Speed Cards — free online memory game
About this game
A full shuffled deck, a memorization clock, and then the rebuild: pick every card in order. Speed Cards is the flagship memory-sport event — dramatic, measurable, and the purest showcase of the memory palace technique.
How to play Speed Cards
- 1Pick a memorize time — you get twice that to rebuild the deck.
- 2Study the shuffled deck in order until time runs out, or leave early.
- 3Pick cards in order from the sheet. Score = cards in their exact positions.
What Speed Cards trains
Card memorization combines every core technique: each card becomes an image (via a Person–Action–Object system), and each image is placed along a familiar route. The sport's champions memorize a full deck in under 30 seconds; a beginner with a 10-minute clock and 26 palace locations can clear the whole deck on a good day. This game gives you the clock, the scoring and the repetition.
Category: Memory sports · Scoring: Cards in cards · Modes: 2 min, 5 min, 10 min
Tip: Send each card down a familiar journey (memory palace) — 2–3 cards per location works well.
How do memory athletes memorize a deck of cards?
Every card is pre-translated into an image — often a person doing an action with an object (PAO). 52 cards become ~17 vivid scenes placed at fixed stops along a mental journey. Recall is walking the journey and reading the scenes back.
What is a good Speed Cards time?
Memorizing all 52 cards correctly within 10 minutes is a solid beginner milestone. Under 5 minutes is competition territory; the world record is about 12 seconds for the full deck.
Is Speed Cards free?
Yes — Speed Cards is completely free, with no account, no signup and no downloads. Scores are saved privately in your browser, and you can install MemoryGames as an app from your browser menu if you want it on your home screen.
