Speed Numbers — free online memory game

About this game

This is the actual Numbers event from memory championships: a sheet of digits in rows of 20, a memorization clock, and exact-position scoring. Pick your time control — 1, 2 or 5 minutes — and find out what a trained mind can really hold.

How to play Speed Numbers

  1. 1Pick a memorize time — you get twice that to type the sheet back.
  2. 2Study the digit sheet (rows of 20) until time runs out, or leave early.
  3. 3Type what you remember, row by row. Score = digits correct in their exact spots.

What Speed Numbers trains

Speed Numbers trains volume encoding: turning abstract digits into memorable images fast enough to fill a whole sheet. World-class athletes memorize 500+ digits in 5 minutes — not with bigger short-term memory, but with the Major System: every 2–3 digits becomes a picture placed on a memory-palace route. This game is where that technique gets pressure-tested.

Category: Memory sports · Scoring: Digits in digits · Modes: 1 min, 2 min, 5 min

Tip: Chunk digits into 2s and 3s and turn them into pictures — athletes never read one digit at a time.

How is Speed Numbers scored?

Exactly like the championship discipline: you get points for each digit in its correct position — 20 for a complete correct row, 10 for a row with one error. Partial rows score their correct digits, so guessing beats blanks.

How many digits can people memorize in 5 minutes?

Untrained players typically manage 20–40. With the Major System and a memory palace, 80–120 is reachable within weeks of practice; the world record is over 600.

Is Speed Numbers free?

Yes — Speed Numbers is completely free, with no account, no signup and no downloads. Scores are saved privately in your browser, and you can install MemoryGames as an app from your browser menu if you want it on your home screen.
